Physical Education

The Physical Education Program at Lakelands Primary School allows children to progress and enhance Fundamental Movement Skills, game tactic knowledge and understand how physical activity affects our bodies. Sport promotes confidence, self-esteem, problem solving, social skills and healthy lifestyles. Our program incorporates team work, self-reflection, courage, resilience and fun to develop the whole child.

Students in PP to Year 6 have a one hour lesson of Sport a week. The whole school participates in the Morning Fitness program which is set up and run by the Year 5 and 6 students. This program gives our senior students the opportunity to develop leadership skills which will follow them through life. During sports lessons children are introduce to a wide range of sports, skill sets such as throwing, jumping, rolling, kicking etc. and tactics aligned with the WA Curriculum.

Our young athletes take part in interschool competition against other schools in the Peel Region. Upper primary students have the opportunity to represent Lakelands in League Tag Rugby, AFL, Volleyball, Netball, Soccer, Cross Country, Athletics and Cricket events hosted throughout the year. Students train hard and commit themselves to training sessions during recess and lunch times. We are competitive on the field and all players turn up to each event with their Lakelands Legend Spirit.
