LIBRARY

At Lakelands Primary School, we believe our library is the centre of our school community.  It is a place where we believe in inclusiveness, showing respect, responsibility, and inspiring growth.

Our library is a warm and inviting place for all staff, students, parents, and the wider community.  It’s a place everybody can be proud of and feel a sense of belonging. Students are actively engaged and encouraged to become passionate about reading and the opportunities it can provide.

The library is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and students are encouraged to visit anytime between before school after school and during lunch to exchange their library books. They do not need to wait until their classroom borrowing day to swap their books.

Parents are encouraged to pop into the library any time before or after school to read a book with their children.

Students are welcome to visit the library during lunch time on the days Mrs Lomas is here. They can read a book, play board games, or colour in. The library is a full house on most days!

We encourage students to show leadership. This year we have seven Year 6 Library Monitors who help with the general running of our school library.  When on duty the Library Monitors wear their purple vests and badges. They are here to help students with any questions they may have and are role models for the younger students.
