Welcome to our library with Mrs Ellis!

At Lakelands Primary School, we want our library to be the centre of our school community.

Our library is a warm and inviting place for all staff, students, parents and the wider community. It’s a place that everybody can be proud of and feel a sense of belonging.  Where students are actively engaged and encouraged to become passionate about reading and the opportunities it can provide.

The library is open daily, and students are encouraged to visit anytime between 8.30 – 3.30 to exchange their library books. They do not need to wait until their classroom borrowing day to swap their books.

Parents are encouraged to pop into the library any time before or after school to read a book with their children.

Students are welcome to visit the library during Lunch Time (Monday – Thursday) to read a book, play board games or generally ‘hang out’. The library is a full house on most days!

Every Thursday morning at 8.40 parents and younger siblings not at school are invited to Toddler Time. These sessions are fun and interactive for the children and provide time for parents to build relationships between themselves. With the use of donated books, siblings are also encouraged to borrow books.

Applications are now open to all Year 5 and 6 students who wish to become a Library Monitor. Application will close Friday 16 February 2018 and be announced at the end of Week 4.

I would love to see you all soon. Feel free to pop in and say ‘Hi!”
